HOW TO REMOVE STICKER RESIDUE

Have you ever asked yourself - How to remove sticker residue from glass or how to remove sticker residue from plastic? It’s not always easy to remove stickers from the surface of your car, and once you attempt to remove them, they often leave behind a sticky residue from their adhesives. Finding the right product for removing sticker residue that is safe to use on Automate paint, clear coating, plastic, glass, metal, and other non-porous surfaces will help you remove any traces of sticker residue. Follow these simple steps on how to remove sticker residue left behind by parking tickets, bumper stickers, and other various vehicle labels.

USE THE RIGHT TOOLS AND PRODUCTS

Step 1:

  • Start with our Label & Sticker Remover, ensuring that the sticker is well saturated before peeling it off. Center your attention on one sticker before moving on to the next one.
  • Allow the solution to dissolve the adhesives before attempting any removal. A few minutes is all that is needed, helping to reduce any adhesive left behind.

Step 2:

Depending on which surface you’ll be working on, you’ll need to select the right tool:

  • A razor blade or strong plastic knife for glass surfaces
  • A strong plastic knife or credit card for plastic or rubber surfaces
  • Use a soft cotton cloth wrapped around a durable plastic tool for paint or metal surfaces, to avoid leaving behind any scratches

CLEAN THE SURFACE

Step 3:

  • Using a firm grip on your tool, begin at one corner of the sticker and peel back from the car’s surface. If needed, add more Label & Sticker Remover to help with lifting up the sticker as you peel.
  • Wipe off any adhesive residue still left behind by spraying more Label & Sticker Remover on a clean cloth after the sticker has been removed.

Step 4:

  • Give your vehicle’s surface a final touch with a car wash and Spray Wax application, to even out the shine and hide any existence of a sticker ever being there. If the sticker was on an interior surface, use an interior cleaner.
